That would be me!
Anyway, I’m a Creative Writing degree graduate, and this blog is a place for me to share what I’ve learned after four
painfully long and arduous wonderful years. Every week (or so), I’ll be discussing an aspect of writing, like character or setting, or how to create tension. You know, fun things like that.
Why am I doing this? Well, my goal is pretty simple; I want to teach you, the reader, something about writing. I’m not a published author, and by no means an expert, but I’ve been taught a lot of good advice and want to share it with you. I’ve always found that writing advice from published authors, while generally good, reaches a point where they’re basically telling you what they did. I’m not suggesting it becomes gloating, but it sure feels like that sometimes.
I’m not going to do that. I don’t want to do that. Whenever the dreaded writer’s block crops up, I want this to be a place of inspiration! Struggling with a character? Come here! Can’t quite nail your scene transitions? This is the place for you!
So, once I’ve customised the blog theme (which, let’s be honest, takes a ridiculous amount of time!), I’ll be posting some advice on…well, I don’t know which topic yet. But if there are any topics that you would like my input on, which I haven’t already gone through, then by all means drop me a message! After all, as much as this is my blog, it’s a blog for you.
